Oh Brother Chap. 1

Here is what I am working on right now. It is not part of my piggybacking story but it has been on my mind all day and wanted to be out so it caould veiw the world. It is a part of a short story I wrote which Ally and Kelsey both got pissed at were I left it soo here is the begining of another chapter. I know it says chap. 1. I think of the other as a prologue.

“Luke, hey Luke.” John snapped his fingers in Luke’s face trying to get his attention.
Luke blinked his eyes and tried to focus on his surroundings. He had been lost in memories better left in the past.
“What are you blathering about now?”
“Dude, you’ve gotta stop thinking of her! I have just the thing. We are going to the Kappa Tau party tonight. Drinking, dancing-
“Drunk girls who take their tops off. You say that about all the parties.” He knew how much John liked the party scene.
“Just think about it ok. I’ll see you after ‘The Dragons’ class.” John turned, smiled at a redhead walking by. “Later. Hey Sherry wait up.”
Luke debated about just going home this weekend. He missed his family. Looking around at all the other students who were excited about it being the weekend, made him wish that he had something, anything, to be excited about.

Sara had been home five minutes when she started wishing she had stayed at school. Her parents were driving her insane. My car is fine Dad. Yes Mom they are feeding me. I am not too skinny. I want to turn back the clock and stay at school or maybe drive a nail through my head.
“Sara are you even listening. I want to know what your plans are tonight.” Jim asked. “Your just like your mother. Every time I try to talk to you, you tune me out.”
“Sorry Dad. I don’t have any plans.”
“Why don’t you call Lizzie and you two can-
“Dad stop. You know that’s not gonna happen. She crosses the road if she even thinks I’m on the same sidewalk.”
“I don’t see why ya’ll can’t work this out.”
“I broke her brother’s heart.” She looked around the kitchen her mother always kept spotless. “I’m gonna go to Rod’s and get a cappuccino. I’ll see you at dinner.”
Sara leaned down and kissed her dad on the top of his head and walked through the kitchen, into the living room, told her mom bye and headed to the front door.
Rod’s was her favorite coffee shop. It was a peaceful place if you liked the click clack of people on their laptops, and the sound of the cappuccino machine. She walked in and inhaled the aroma of mocha. She decided to order hers to go and spend some time at the outside in the warm spring air. She headed towards the door thinking about Lizzie and how much she missed her. She bumped into someone, looked up into familiar brown eyes.

There are a lot of places I wanna work onit, some of the dialogue, [if I ever ever ever get my hands on that stupid high school English teacher of yours who hated contractions, I'm going to GIVE HER contractions!!!] and there are one or two tweaks I'd like to suggest, but seriously, awesome awesome awesome, and you are doing GREAT on your tense! - Your Loving Editor, Al
