It's short but all I have right now.
Damn my luck! Luke didn’t need to look down to see who just ran into him. He could smell Sunflowers, her favorite perfume. He looked anyway.
“Sorry.” She all but ran out of the coffee shop, almost tripping over a little girl who was clutching her momma’s hand.
Luke lost his desire for coffee. All he wanted to do was run after Sara and hold her, yell at her, something. Anything just to be near her. He walked to the counter and ordered the coffee of the day and then sat at a table, knowing if he left now he would try to follow her wherever she went.
He had finished his coffee when Lizzie came inside.
“Sorry I’m late.” She grabbed his coffee to take a drink, realized it was empty and made a face.
“Why don’t you get us some more coffee and then you can tell me how college life is treating ya.” He gave her hair a tug. “I’ve missed you.”
“Ditto” She stuck out her tongue at him, and then she got up to get their coffee. “Why don’t we take a walk?”
“Let’s not.”
“Why not?” She saw the sadness in his eyes. “She’s in town this weekend. Damnit.”

Oh Brother prologue
For Nanna and anyone who hasn't read this. It is from Sara's pov since I do not have Luke's pov on my comp. Ally like's Luke's better. I am working on chap. 1 still. I only have half a page so far. When I get a little more I will post.
Lizzie and Luke were having an end – of – school year get together at their house. The good thing about that in Sara’s opinion was that only Luke, herself, Lizzie and John would be there.
The night started out great. They decided to just veg out and watch movies.
“I’m bored. Let’s do something fun,” John said. “Let’s turn up the music!” He walked to the stereo and put on a Five Finger Death Punch CD. The girls rolled their eyes, and the guys started slam dancing.
“Come on! Ya’ll are just sitting there like bumps on a log. Get up and dance.” John smiled down at the girls.
Sara and Lizzie giggled at the boys’ antics as they tried to out – goof each other. About fifteen minutes later the guys fell exhausted, onto the couch. Luke landed on Sara and gave her a big smile. She felt her heart stop. They grew up together so it wasn’t the first time he had smiled at her, but somehow this one was different. Oh God. I’m falling in love with my best friend’s brother.
Later, after everyone had went to bed, Sara had trouble falling asleep. She went to Lizzie’s window to look out. She kept thinking of the smile Luke gave her and why it had effected her the way it had. She fell asleep at dawn only to dream of Luke.
The next day Lizzie and Sara went to the mall to do some shopping. Lizzie kept throwing Sara speculative looks but didn’t say anything. Sara was debating on whether she should say anything to her or not. She needed to talk to someone and who better than her best friend and who worse than his sister?
“Let’s go grab something to eat from Steak Escape.” Sara put down the picture frame she was looking at.
She decided to tell Lizzie because she needed someone to talk to. She waited until they got their hoagies to start. “Last night after the guys finished dancing,” air quotes, “ Luke smiled at me.”
“It’s not the first time…”
“I know it’s not. This time it was different. Like brighter somehow. I swear it made my heart stop.” Sara had a sappy, lovey, gooey look on her face.
“First Eww! My brother? Second Yay! I’m happy for you. Are you gonna tell him?”
“I don’t know. What do you think?” They both got up to throw away their trash. “What if he thinks I’m stupid or worse just like a little sister to him?”
“Let’s go find a cute top that’ll bring out the green in your eyes and then work out what you should say to him.”
After they finished shopping, Sara wanted to go get ice cream, but decided not to press her luck since her stomach was full of butterflies. “Are you sure I should tell him? What if he doesn’t like me?”
“Remember when I was crushing on John? You’re the one who talked me into telling him. I was scared too, but we would probably wouldn’t be together if I hadn’t talked to him.” Lizzie opened the driver’s side door and got inside.
“You didn’t talk to him. You cornered him at a party and yelled at him.”
“Whatever. It worked.” She stared the car backed out of the parking lot and headed home.
“So I should just come right out and tell him? Are you sure about this? Is that Claire’s car in your driveway?”
They got out of the car and headed inside. As they walked through the door they heard Claire’s laugh and followed it into the living room where they saw Luke on the floor with Claire, the head cheerleader, sitting on top of him.
Sara froze.
“I, umm… I gotta go clean out the umm stove.” Sara turned and bolted out of the house.
After she got home, she went to her room and curled up in bed. She stayed there weeping for about two hours, ignoring her cell phone every time it rang. Finally she got up, washed her face called Lizzie back, and told her she was fine, ate supper with her mom and dad, came back upstairs, and took a shower.
How could I have made such a mistake? How can I compete with someone like Claire? I’m a short brunette with green eyes and she’s tall, blonde, blue eyes and perfect.
A few days later, Sara was reading Twilight again when her cell rang. “Hey Lizzie, I’m reading what’s up?”
“Me and John just got into a fight and I was wondering if you wanted to come over and watch a movie with me tonight?”
“I don’t know.”
“Please. I need a distraction to take my mind off of him. Please?”
“Ok. I’ll be there in a little while.”
Sara picked out her cutest outfit. Luke was probably there and she wanted to look her best. Without looking like she was trying.
As she pulled up the driveway, she wondered if maybe she should just turn around and go home. Sara got out of the car and slowly walked to the door, took a deep breath and knocked on the door. She almost had it knocked out of her when Luke was the one who answered the door.
She walked in and noticed the smell of flowers. A lot of flowers. That’s weird. Lizzie came downstairs gave Sara an innocent look and they all went to sit and watch the movie I am Legend. After about ten minutes, Lizzie jumped up and said, “We’re out of cokes. I’ll run to the store and get some more.”
“I’ll go,” Sara stood up.
“No that’s ok. I’ll just run and get em. It won’t take long.” Lizzie all but ran out the door, shutting it before Sara could blink.
Sara sat back down, looking over at Luke. Then she glanced down, picking at the hem of her shorts. “Where’s Claire tonight?”
“Probably out with her boyfriend.” Luke popped off, causally slinging his arm on the back of the sofa behind her.
Now she looked confused. “I thought you and her where…”
“Sara,” Luke said softly, I’m not dating her. We’re just friends. I’ve known her since the summer Mom insisted I take ballet to ‘make me more graceful’. She was the only kid that didn’t make fun of me, and we’ve been friends ever since. She’s way to much of a girly-girl for me.”
She looked at him and he smiled at her. She relaxed a little bit, until she saw a wicked gleam come into his eyes. Luke reached over and started poking her in the side, so she slapped his hand away. He grabbed her hand with one of his and leaned towards her as she scooted away, trying not to get held down and tickled. They started wrestling and fell to the floor laughing like goons. Neither one heard the front door open. Lizzie walked in, saw them on the floor, and decided she could watch the movie later. She tiptoed upstairs to call John and tell him all that had happened.Sara got Luke pinned and smiled down at him. She looked into his deep brown eyes as he leaned forward. He smirked, and then flipped her onto her back. She could feel his heart beating against hers as he leaned down and lightly touched his lips to hers. She closed her eyes; slide her hands up his arms until the twined around his neck, as he deepened the kiss.

Oh Brother Chap. 1
Here is what I am working on right now. It is not part of my piggybacking story but it has been on my mind all day and wanted to be out so it caould veiw the world. It is a part of a short story I wrote which Ally and Kelsey both got pissed at were I left it soo here is the begining of another chapter. I know it says chap. 1. I think of the other as a prologue.
“Luke, hey Luke.” John snapped his fingers in Luke’s face trying to get his attention.
Luke blinked his eyes and tried to focus on his surroundings. He had been lost in memories better left in the past.
“What are you blathering about now?”
“Dude, you’ve gotta stop thinking of her! I have just the thing. We are going to the Kappa Tau party tonight. Drinking, dancing-
“Drunk girls who take their tops off. You say that about all the parties.” He knew how much John liked the party scene.
“Just think about it ok. I’ll see you after ‘The Dragons’ class.” John turned, smiled at a redhead walking by. “Later. Hey Sherry wait up.”
Luke debated about just going home this weekend. He missed his family. Looking around at all the other students who were excited about it being the weekend, made him wish that he had something, anything, to be excited about.
Sara had been home five minutes when she started wishing she had stayed at school. Her parents were driving her insane. My car is fine Dad. Yes Mom they are feeding me. I am not too skinny. I want to turn back the clock and stay at school or maybe drive a nail through my head.
“Sara are you even listening. I want to know what your plans are tonight.” Jim asked. “Your just like your mother. Every time I try to talk to you, you tune me out.”
“Sorry Dad. I don’t have any plans.”
“Why don’t you call Lizzie and you two can-
“Dad stop. You know that’s not gonna happen. She crosses the road if she even thinks I’m on the same sidewalk.”
“I don’t see why ya’ll can’t work this out.”
“I broke her brother’s heart.” She looked around the kitchen her mother always kept spotless. “I’m gonna go to Rod’s and get a cappuccino. I’ll see you at dinner.”
Sara leaned down and kissed her dad on the top of his head and walked through the kitchen, into the living room, told her mom bye and headed to the front door.
Rod’s was her favorite coffee shop. It was a peaceful place if you liked the click clack of people on their laptops, and the sound of the cappuccino machine. She walked in and inhaled the aroma of mocha. She decided to order hers to go and spend some time at the outside in the warm spring air. She headed towards the door thinking about Lizzie and how much she missed her. She bumped into someone, looked up into familiar brown eyes.

Piggybacking what I have so far.....
Ok I need a little help. Here is what I have so far on my piggyback story and I am at a loss. Granted I am not very far yet. So any suggestions will be very helpful!!! Thanks! ~Tiff
The two men appeared out of nowhere, a few yards apart in the narrow moonlit lane. Ben looked around in surprise. He was meeting some lady named Sandy and she wasn’t due for another five minutes. That’s what his note said anyway.
“Are you Ben? I’m Sandy.” He looked around at the dumpsters. “Sorry for the cloak and dagger stuff”
“Goodbye”
“Don’t leave yet. At least hear me out.”
Ben turned back around. “You’ve got to be kidding me?”

Stealing, borrowing, same thing right?
For our next book club we decided to all write something instead of reading something, and the idea is to 'piggyback' from another novel. Which basiclly means find a book, take the first sentence and use it and go from there. The only problem with that is I have read 95% of the books at my house at least 3 times and I know how the story goes. I'm gonna give it a try though. I know I haven't blogged everyday like I should.... Ally hasn't nagged me and we both have been pretty busy. Anyway I am gonna try to do better in the future. ~Tiffanie

A quick note
I'm not able to write a story tonite. I have my hands full. Maybe after the kiddos go to bed I will. If not I will tomorrow. ~Tiff
Newbie is me
For all reading this, the title says it all. I am gonna be using this blog to post some of my writing. FYI most of my writing bends towards the romance. I would appreciate constructive feedback. Some of my writing will be short stories and some will be part of larger works. I hope all enjoy. ~Tiffanie
